On January 1, 2014 the requirement to offer Hepatitis C Testing to those born between 1945 and 1965 went into effect in New York State.   MSSNY is hosting a webinar on Tuesday, January 14th at 12:30 p.m. on this issue.   Please see below and feel free to register for this educational program.   Registration is required and you may click on the link at the end.  This webinar will also be archived as an enduring material and will be posted as soon as possible after the initial viewing.

Hepatitis C:  New Test Requirements for Physicians 

Faculty on January 14th will be: Colleen Flanigan, RN, MS,  Director, Viral Hepatitis Section, New York State Department of Health.  The educational objectives for the program will be:

  • Understand the CDC Hepatitis C virus (HCV) recommendations for patients born between 1945-65
  • Review of HCV screening and diagnostic tests and the CDC HCV screening algorithm
  • Obtain knowledge of the NYS HCV testing law

The Medical Society of the State of New York is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Medical Society of the State of New York designates this live activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
