Featured Workshop:  Screening For Hunger—Bridging the Gap Between Food Insecurity and Healthcare

Presented by:
Kofi Essel, MD, Children’s National Health System
Richard Sheward, Senior Policy Analyst – State Policy, Children’s HealthWatch

More and more healthcare providers and systems are looking at ways to identify and address food insecurity as it becomes more widely recognized as a social determinant of health.  This important workshop will focus on advances in screening patients for food insecurity, including the landmark “Hunger Vital Sign.”  “Addressing Food Insecurity: A Toolkit for Pediatricians”, the FRAC/American Academy of Pediatrics toolkit, will be introduced, as well as additional tools and resources to help promote federal nutrition programs as health interventions.  The workshop will conclude with information about community agencies that can assist those struggling with hunger.

The conference will be held at the Albany Capital Center, Albany’s newest conference venue.  Register today!
