The NYS Pediatric Advocacy Conference will be held on March 17, 2016, at Columbia University. Please save the date for our fourth year of collaborative work to promote the health of all children in New York State. - WHO: Community organizations, medical trainees, educators, et al. involved in child advocacy and community health.
- WHAT: Projects/research addressing diseases or health disparities in pediatric populations. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: early childhood development, access to care, patient education, environmental health, academic performance, obesity, tobacco exposure, health justice and the effects of poverty.
Special consideration will be given to innovative strategies, evidence-based solutions, and model programs that can be implemented
in other communities. Although this conference targets New York State, we welcome applicants from elsewhere for the purpose of sharing ideas and building partnerships. Works in progress are welcome.
Abstracts should be no longer than 500 words and should include: Title, Authors, Institutions, Background, Design/Methods, Results [may be preliminary or pending], Discussion. - Posters will be on display during the conference; select submissions will be recognized for notable contribution to the health of their communities and children.
