Pediatric Disaster Mental Health Intervention (PDMHI) and
Community Preparedness Networking Forum
in response to Hurricane Sandy and in preparation for future disasters

WHO:  Primary Care Pediatricians,
Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, PAs and Family Practitioners
who see a significant number of children in their practices


 Physicians who attend will receive four CME credits for the PDMHI training.
All other healthcare providers will receive a certificate of completion.

  • Utilize Psychological First Aid for victims of disasters
  • Recognize ASR, ASD and PTSD
  • Respond to Mental Health Disorders in Primary Care
  • Identify At-Risk Patients
  • Prepare to Work in a Post-Disaster Environment
  • Utilize Lessons Learned from Previous Disasters

1:00PM-3:00PM Community Preparedness Networking Forum

  • Connect with Leaders from Community-Based Child and Family Service Agencies
  • Create a Community Resource Network to Help Respond to Children’s Needs During Disasters
